blake walker contest diet. "the following is an guideline of what an average days eating would look like for me whilst prepping to get in shape for a contest.
i never cut out carbs completely but do restrict them to just around my workouts. i always eat some carbs pre/post workout. with my main carbohydrate choices being rolled oats, sweet potato, brown rice.
for the rest of my meals where i don't have carbs, i'll add some fats in. f*t choices being almonds, avocado, coconut oil, flaxseed oil.
for flavor and seasoning i use cinnamon, stevia, chili, sea salt, paprika, almost any herbs and spices are ok to use.
my average day would look somewhat like
meal 1 (pre workout) - 1 cup of oats, 250ml egg whites, whey protein isolate shake, black coffee
meal 2 (post workout) - 1 cup cooked brown rice, 150grams white fish, asparagus
meal 3 - 150grams chicken breast, spinach salad, 1/4 avocado
meal 4 - 150grams chicken breast, 200grams broccoli, 10-15 almonds
meal 5 - 250ml egg whites, red capsicum, mushrooms, spinach, onion - made into an omelette. 10-15 almonds
the next day i may substitute my post workout brown rice for sweet potato ect.. everyone is different and different things work for different people. for me what i've found works best is just keeping things simple and basic, moderate carbs/moderate fats, high protein. always making sure to eat plenty of green vegetables and salads"
