I travel overseas a lot. constantly being in a different time zone is tough on my sleep schedule. so, i’ve figured out a way to help eliminate jet-lag, no matter how far away i might roam. here’s a few of my top tricks to beat jet lag and get a full and quality night rest:
fast on the plane. only drink water. no matter how long the flight. just water.
sweat. move your body as soon as you can once you’re off the flight. i normally do 30 minutes of hiit workout.
take melatonin about 30min-1hr before you plan on going to bed. our bodies naturally produce melatonin sometime after dusk to signal the brain that it’s nearing time to sleep. once we’re asleep the amount of melatonin slowly reduces into the morning hours. when we travel, our bodies internal time clock struggles to keep up with the time change so it’s crucial that we give it a little help and take a melatonin supplement to let it know when it’s time for sleep.
i love using @natureswaybrands
melatonin lozenge. it’s easy to travel with and it lasts amazing! ⠀
good luck fellow travelers - you can do it! #trusttheleaf #ad #caleyalyssahome
