Some time about a year ago, the ol' m42 she originally had dropped a valve. i thought i had made a huge mistake buying my e30, but it ended up making me meet a slew of new friends who taught me a hell of a lot about wrenching on cars beyond just removing wheels and doing oil changes. this is why i always use the rubylives tag i my posts. this girl is a freakin' survivor! just rember, even when s**t hits the fan, every little thing is gonna be alright.
Beans painted black and looking fresh for a $4 restoration 👍of course they could be better, but for the cost of a can of paint, they're no longer chipped with the original chrome finish peeking through
In the quest to always improve her, i tried installing a new aux fan low speed resistor that ended up smoking after turning the car on. i looked up threads on how to bypass the resistor, so now my aux fan works! only trick is that it works on high speed all the time now lol. i think the aux fan not turning is why my ac would work well on the interstate and not while sitting. also, i'm paining the kidneys so they'll look more fresh 👍
Thank god i had anoyher oil pan on hand! i bent thr skid plate back enough to have at least some space from the oil pan itself. that @red46sumparmor skid plate is heavy duty as hell, but i don't think any skid plate would have protected from hitting that solid chunk of cement going 75mph. i figured while the car was on stands, i might as well change the oxygen sensor cause i had been getting a check engine light for it, and i put in that abs sensor that's been in my glovebox since i bought the car. have a happy independence day everyone! ruby lives!
The @garagistic rear subframe alignment tabs and bolts work super well, but it can be touuuuuugh getting a wrench up in there on the toe plates because of this metal piece of the body. i took it upon myself to cut out a bit of that to allow a wrench to fit up there more easily, and it worked! of course, you have to prevent rust, so i used some rubberized spray (which got a little more than just the fresh metal). all in all, i think this will make it a whole lot easier to access that bolt in the future 👍
