why sprint against resistance?
the main reason to do these drills is to help build functional power to generate faster accelerations and attain a higher maximum speed.
resisted training helps to increase your speed-to-strength ratio which improves your ability to generate greater force during sprint starts, or during any quick accelerations while running. the more power you can generate when pushing off against the ground, the faster you will propel yourself away from the ground. and this is the key to sprinting.
