When you travel to antarctica as a tourist, it’s easy to think that the ship you travelled down on is the only piece of big equipment anywhere on the continent. you often forget about the equipment needed to support the people who live on the ice for extended periods. helicopters are the most convenient way to get around and many research stations will have access to at least one. this on supports australia’s davis station and ensures that scientists can get where the need to go to conduct their experiments! this photo was taken by @waydewideworld
