Mince pies. the true taste of christmas, served warm cozied up beside a generous dollop of softly whipped vanilla cream.
i've had a lovely afternoon talking about my book, my mum, my fight to raise awareness of dementia. all while demonstrating and giving tips of making pastry - which was then turned in to a christmas pie. i also made some cranberry financiers and a pomegrante and mint meringue wreath, all recipes from the book, just adapted for the festive season. i got to meet some lovely ladies and they all left with a big smile, full tummies and a book tucked under their arms. each and every sale today generated another £4 towards dementia research. every little helps. .
