Wednesday mornings look like.. beach walks and pebble tossing.
I made the executive decision today that the housework can wait and quality time should be spent with my number one little man. It was heaven.

πŸƒ Small steps in the right direction are better than big ones in the wrong direction. ⁣⁣

When I started this page, I thought long and hard about the best way to inspire and encourage parents on the importance of raising outdoor kids. As a busy SAHM of two who also works (and tries to exercise and have a life too πŸ˜†πŸ™ˆ), I totally get the mental load and the inevitable #mumguilt that comes with every decision you make as a parent. Do Kiwi parents really need another thing to worry about (the amount of time their kids spend outdoors) when we are all just trying to do our best?⁣⁣

#theoutdoorkidsproject was born out of a desire to empower Kiwi parents on the benefits of raising outdoor kids, to inspire and educate you on the importance of time spent in nature every day and ultimately to share ideas on how to grow healthier, more resilient and confident families who are more connected to nature. But equally, our vision is to help our kids learn to love our environment so they go on to develop a lifelong respect for it AND a desire to protect it (as it desperately needs us all to do right? πŸ‘)
⁣‒⁣
So to answer my own question, despite it being another thing for us all to think about, the message is just TOO important not to share. ⁣⁣

yes, the goal is to get your kids outside for "at least three hours a day" but let me keep it real by saying, "i get it.”⁣ some days this may come easily, others not so much. but ultimately its all about taking those small steps and keeping on track. ⁣⁣
