#Innovation doesn’t always mean creating a brand new idea. Sometimes it’s about thinking about what already exists and questioning how we can make it more accessible and inclusive.

This past Thursday, the incredible @sidiculous and I received first place in Judges Choice Award and runner up in People’s Choice at the @seattleinteract @adobe Creative Jam. In three hours, we ideated, researched, and designed an app that utilizes an existing device in the medical field for doctors patients who have PTSD or trauma. But our app alleviates the high costs of sound therapy, creates more trust between patients and doctors, and lets patients access sound therapy through their phone. (Because, let’s be real, anxiety attacks and triggers can happen at any moment of our lives.) So lucky to experience my first #UX Design challenge with an incredible teammate. ⏰ Time for a writing update along with a cute picture of this morning’s breakfast! Been working on my first draft of my memoir lately and it’s been bringing up some #ImposterSyndrome feelings. When there’s a sentence not “perfect enough” or fleshed-out enough, those fears immediately set back in. “I can’t do this.” “Maybe I’m not a writer.” “Maybe I’m a writer, just a sh*t one.” But still, I sit down each day since Draft One has been done and I edit. I do the work. I hear the doubting voices and yet, I continue to traverse past them and do the work. Want to overcome #ImposterSyndrome? Do the work! 👊🏼 Ghandi said: “Whatever you do in life will be insignificant; but it’s important that you do it.” So let’s go do it! ✨

Anyone else need a change of scenery when working? What I loved about my corporate job was variety of places where I worked. I'm not one to be in the same place everyday. Who else is with me on that one? Supplies all out and ready to go! Hope you are having a great day and remember you are amazing!

SMONDAYS. When your day is clouded by you thinking too much about what tomorrow brings. So when you find your mind flying ahead to thoughts of tomorrow, catch yourself and then focus on one of your senses bringing you back to the present moment. There is plenty of time tomorrow to focus on tomorrow! I just caught myself doing it so I stopped my thought 💭 (without judging), closed my eyes and listened to the sounds around me as I enjoy some time in the garden today. Enjoy the rest of your day and just remember you are amazing! 💗

Do you ever have those days when you feel on top of the world? Life feels good hey. But what about the days where you perhaps need a little help to remember what is great about you. A little tip for you today. Create a folder on your email, phone (whatever works for you) and label it as lovely feedback (or whatever works for you) and when you need it you can flick through the folder and read the lovely things that people have said about you. I know when I am having one of those days, that folder with those messages like this one really give me a lift. Have a wonderful day and remember you are amazing 💗

As you head into a new week, notice how you feel about it. If you are going to a job that you don't enjoy, what makes you stay there? The security, the money, better the devil you know. Imposter Syndrome is doubting your own abilities. If you don't like what you do or more importantly you don't like the culture, is the truth that self doubt is keeping you there? That you worry that you can't succeed somewhere else, that you can't earn that same money elsewhere. Breaking free of Imposter Syndrome allows you to make different choices because you know no matter what happens you will be ok and you are good enough right now. Check in and see what makes you keep going to a job that doesn't light you up. Someone said to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is a sign of insanity. So pause and ask yourself what makes me stay here? Acknowledging where you are is the first step to change 💗. Have a good day and know you are amazing 💗

I can't do this, I'm not very good at this, I should be able to do this. If this is you then I ask you to try this challenge. Grab a pen and paper and write down 5 things that you perceive as weaknesses. Get that stuff out of your head and on paper. Then flip it. Find reasons why your perceived weaknesses are actually strengths. You see the only thing we need to change about our perceived weaknesses is how we think of them.
