It is no wonder that there is an emergency helipad right next to one of the most famous driving roads in the world, the tail of the dragon. the road has 318 curves in 11 miles and is a popular pilgrimage site for motorcycle and car enthusiasts.
luckily we had local friends who let us borrow their track-prepped z3 m roadster for the day so we wouldn’t have to motor in the land yacht, which is the million mile lexus.
although the tail of the dragon can be an exhilarating stretch of tarmac, in reality we found that it was way too busy with motorcycles, trikes, cars and cops to be enjoyed. nevertheless all the roads leading up to it are just as epic if not better.
the z3 is a perfect choice for these narrow windy roads and it rolled like a train on rails around corners. as this was anton’s first time driving a z3, he was positively surprised how stiff the chassis was from the factory. ***
have any of you guys driven the dragon 🐉 or any other fun road recently? what is the perfect car for tight consecutive curves and steep bankings in your opinion?
