“i can barely conceive a type of beauty in which there is no melancholy.”
― charles baudelaire
the weather forecasters have a rational explanation for the weeks and weeks of rain and fog that have beset us here in atlanta, georgia. evidently, we are stuck between two high pressure systems that just won't budge, and as a result, we get this rainy weather that has green moss sprouting on everything outdoors. my concrete walk and driveway look like a forest floor carpeted in moss. yet, despite the heaviness of the atmosphere, there is definitely a beauty in the scene, heightened by a strong sense of melancholy that it stirs in the mind of the onlooker.
