Don't know why but it sweets me.

I - started with some heavily loaded pushes courtesy of @woolley_man because my body 🖤 weight & if u can't do it slow, u can't do it fast #drills

II - Free'd up the weight to aim for same technical positions without the added reistance

III - progressed to the sled to marry the movements on the trolley to real life.

IV - Ended with my first 'paired' push of the offseason (again courtesy of Woolley) to get used to the angles in 'real time'

► Like me at first, you may think that there is little you can do to improve the aerodynamics of a skeleton rider; after all, the athlete can only lay down on a racing sled in appearance already thin and streamlined. But surprisingly, in pursuit of crucial hundredth of a second, even skeleton riders spend time in wind tunnel to reduce their drag.

► Just as cyclists, skeleton riders are primarily looking at optimising their riding position. The pictures above of Tina Hermann at the BMW’s aerodynamic test centre reveal that aerodynamicists are paying attention to the position of her legs and feet, and at the wake they are creating. New materials (such as special anti-slip coating) are also developed to hold the rider firmly on the sled, making sure the optimal position is maintained during the whole race.

Todays 180kg /10 close-stance squat. I used to fear higher rep sets, anxiety would take over me and sap my strength. I have now managed to defeat that. I focus all of that nervous energy into a vision of the final goal. This gives me strength. #Squats #Training #BuildingLegs

New favorite breakfast food. @flapjacked pancakes are really good if compared to regular pancake mixes, but as a protein pancake they just about knocked my socks off.  Their muffins need jelly in my humble opinion because I have a sweet tooth.  New pre- and post-workout carb and protein source for morning training sessions.  I can just vary my syrup amounts to meet carb needs because the pancake macros are roughly: 
20P 20C 3F per serving. Double serving plus a 1/4 cup of maple syrup and BAM perfect post-workout meal. (90C 40P 6F) Replace regular syrup with light or sugar free syrup and you've got 65C 40P 6F, or 45C 40P 6F for lighter or shorter training sessions. .

Maybe if I get my favorite pre- and post-workout food (pancakes) with a company name like FlapJACKED I'll get quads like @robertfoerstemann.  Guess I better hit the squat rack again. .

i won my first usa cycling road race yesterday as a cat 4. the @northwesttribike road race series at pacific raceways is an awesome place to learn how to race. 25-30 miles on a circuit that's a little over a mile each lap. nice and flat for heavy sprinters like me. couldn't have done it without the @northwesttribike
crew pulling me along for those primes.

pic is from the redmond derby days cat 3/4 criterium (hot laps around a 1km closed city loop) 3 days earlier where i got nearly last after making my final move to the front of the pack with half a lap to go, then promptly started dry heaving so hard i had to stop pedaling and focus on not crashing people in the sprint. you win some you lose some! i was borrowing @michelle_triathlon's bike.... so, my apologies for the spit all over your bike when i gave it to you at the start of your race! 🤢🤤

Snatch Grip Pull from Knee: a #weightlifting pulling derivative that we use to emphasize both #strength-speed and #speed-strength (via load) through an increase of #velocity that results from elongated barbell displacement when compared to the mid-thigh pull.  In addition, this lift also helps the athlete isolate the skill of concurrently lifting the torso (“opening the hips”) as the knees pass through the bar (#DKB) which overloads the stretch-shortening cycle, a desirable outcome within the #transfer of #training.  Cue the athlete to stage the lift by: 1️⃣ “pushing the knees back”, 2️⃣ “placing the shoulders ahead of bar through a long and braced torso”, and 3️⃣ “locking onto the floor” with a secure-flat foot.  Initiate the movement by 4️⃣ “keeping the bar close to the body” so that the knees naturally drive through ascension which concludes with a 5️⃣ “popping of the shrug” and #plantarflexion.
