Guide to a perfect morning:
wake up early, sip a coffee.
start engine, let it warm up.
turn on some living legends and jam out as i make my way out of suburbia.
i make my way onto a favorite road, turn the music off, and let the engine note dictate my mood.
first gear, spin.
second gear, spin.
third gear, traction and the snap of your neck back into your seat, reminding you where your headrest is.
fourth gear, singing to nearly 8,000rpms at 20+ psi.
let off, hear it scream.
the crisp winter air and the spooling turbo become instant friends; pops, garbles, and small flames from the exhaust are the only remnants of their short-lived affair.
settle into a rhythm of rev-matching downshifts and apexing-perfection. the latter...needs some work.
there's something inherently carnal about driving a toyota mr2 turbo on a cool winter morning. there's no traction control. there are no nannies. it surfs the line between fun and scary, as any good sports car should.
i need to do this more. i can't stop smiling...
