Healthy eating budget tips!
i loathe hearing the excuse that eating healthy is too expensive. yes, there are a lot of fancy products out there but eating healthy can actually be cheaper than the typical standard american diet. buying packaged and processed foods is the biggest culprit in my opinion (and eating out). you can easily make a huge difference by just cooking whole, unprocessed foods at home.
here are some of my healthy eating budget tips!
is the mvp here in my opinion. you can find good quality products at very reasonable prices.
• stock up on bulk carbs. buy big bags of plain oats, rice, cereals. these will last you a long time and cost very little.
• frozen fruits and veggies are great. as an added bonus you never have to worry about them going bad.
• cut your own veggies. spend the extra 5 minutes cutting your produce instead of buying the pre-chopped ones. they are way more expensive and you’ll also save on plastic.
• invest in a quality protein powder. with most tubs having about 30 servings, it’s a convenient and efficient way to get in a serving of protein in for at least a month.
here’s an example of a balanced, tasty meal you can make with some of the tips i mentioned above. i made a bowl of steamed jasmine rice, roasted broccoli and buffalo ranch chicken (mixture of @bolthousefarms
yogurt ranch and @thenewprimal
medium buffalo sauce).
hope you found these helpful! what are some of your go-to tips?
