So last night i watched some random video on youtube about what sets a professional creative apart from an amateur and thought the video made some awesome points. it said the big difference didn’t have to do with fame, success or money but said the difference was that professionals can bring themselves to sit down and create when they don’t feel inspired. i think beginners think that professional artists have worked enough that they are creative all the time. but that’s 100% not true! i honestly feel like i’m in a creative funk/block everyday! but what makes the difference is having the self control to sit down and work anyways. professionals know if they are working then inspiration will come. i wanted to share this sketchbook doodle because as i sat down to draw just now, i had no idea what i wanted to create. i know that i wanted to use my time to improve my drawing abilities but it didn’t know what to draw! after scratching around a little, this guy appeared. not the best sketch, i see a lot about it that i wouldn’t consider “correct”. but i created something that i can now use as reference for an even better drawing! so i guess what i’m saying is don’t wait for inspiration to hit. get to work and get inspired along the way. ✍️👍.
