I couldn't afford much when they were this little. they didn't have a lot of toys or electronics or dance/music lessons or outings to cool places. but they had me. and come to find out, that's all they really needed. me. so we'd play this little game in our apartment complex, where they'd look for me in the kitchen window and every time i'd jump up and make a funny face, they'd laugh and laugh as if we hadn't already played this same game a hundred times before; as if i was more entertaining than any expensive activity or toy i felt bad about not being able to afford for them.
parents, your kids need you. they just need you. and you have so much power to add joy to their life! more power than anything that can be bought.
