Some thoughts on the issue of racism and the responses i see from christians.
scripture often highlights that god is just and calls his people to practice justice - isaiah 30:18; isaiah 61:8; micah 6:8; zachariah 7:9; psalm 33:5
isaiah 1:17; jeremiah 9:24; deuteronomy 10:18; deuteronomy 32:4; matthew 23:23
psalm 89:14 just to name a few. we shouldn't hide behind our theology to avoid confronting the injustices before us.
2. guilt/white guilt/privilege guilt
we should weep, mourn and cry out against injustices. we should weep with those who weep but remember that although christ dies to bear the sin of others, sin itself does not work that way. the believer is never called to atone for the sins of another. the gospel liberates us from this guilt bearing burden - ezekiel 18:22; deuteronomy 24:16; 2 corinthians 5:17; 1 john 1:9
i unpack these two main points. full video on youtube, link in bio.
