i have been eating a lot of oats lately as i love all the benefits that they provide.
oats are an incredibly nutritious food packed with important vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. they’re high in fibre & protein compared to other grains.
oats contain some unique components - in particular, the soluble fibre. they lower blood sugar & cholesterol levels, also has protection against skin irritation and reduced constipation.
in addition, they’re very filling & have many properties that should make them a weight loss friendly food.
oats are among the healthiest foods you can eat.
so 🙆🏻♀️ what better way to start the day.
what you will need:
∙2 large bananas
∙1 cup oats
∙½ cup choc chips
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•½ teaspoon cinnamon
1️⃣ pre heat oven 175 c / 350 f fan forced
2️⃣ line a baking sheet with parchment paper or you use a silicone baking mat.
3️⃣in a food processor or blender pulse bananas for a few seconds, then add oats into the processor and pulse for 1-2 seconds.
4️⃣pour the ingredients in a medium bowl and add choc chips, vanilla extract, cinnamon and mix thoroughly.
5️⃣spoon mixture on to lined baking sheet or silicone mat & mould the cookies with your fingers. i used the lid of my mason jar to form my cookies.
i made them into 8 cookies 🍪 as i like them thin and crunchy but if you like them thicker and more chewy than i suggest making 6 cookies.
6️⃣transfer to oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
