Tag someone who would love to see sit right here and experience spring in london! 🌸🌸🌸 folks, i'm officially done with snow. thankfully it's all gone now and it's been a lovely sunny day here in cheshire - so i couldn't resist featuring this colour-tastic shot by @jetaime.07
of greenwich park ... but don't panic! we've still got a few more weeks before this kind of display is in bloom - plenty of time to get here!
so yes... the "vernal equinox" is upon us: on tuesday, march 20, both the northern and southern hemispheres will experience an equal amount of daylight. for those of us here in britain in the northern hemisphere, it marks the beginning of spring, with daylight hours continuing to lengthen until the summer solstice in june. for those south of the equator, it’s the beginning of autumn. yes, we can finally pack away our giant fleece jumpers and replace them with the slightly thinner jumpers. i'm rather thankful an object hit our planet billions of years ago so we have a tilt to the earth's axis. wouldn't it be rubbish to have no seasons?
love this part of london. set on the side of a hill overlooking the river thames, greenwich park is a great mix of green space, gardens and historical features. climb the hill for panoramic views across london or visit the prime meridian, the reference line for greenwich mean time, and the royal observatory. enjoy the quiet of the park’s flower, herb and orchard gardens, or stop for tea at the popular pavilion café. plus you can visit one of my favourite places in london - the royal navy college... it's truly beautiful inside! lovely shot by @jetaime.07
