first off, understand that you're on other people's time whenever you're pitching an idea/product, etc. it doesn't matter if you're seeking to give them a million dollars for free. you need someone's attention to speak to them. which means you need their time. .
selling books face to face taught me.
1. be direct about what you're offering.
2. ask for the sale.
3. forget the riddles. no one has time for it. say what you have to say, and be quick about it. point blank. don't take a 'no' personal. there are a whole lot of other potential customers. don't let a 'yes' go to your head. if you have a business or service. you need to continually make sales to keep the machine working/moving. .
