„The tans will fade but the memories will last forever ☀️♥️“ | Unbezahlte Werbung | Happy Saturday 🥰 Dies wird wohl mein letzter sommerlicher Post für dieses Jahr sein, denn ab jetzt kommen die Herbstfotos 🙈🍁 Dieser Sommer war so toll, aber irgendwie auch ziemlich verrückt - es ist nun an der Zeit, damit abzuschließen ☺️ #rome #throwback

In Japanese Folk Shinto tradition Izanami and Izanagi had many divine children, but none were so beautiful as their daughter Amaterasu. When they saw how her dazzling light illuminated the world they sent her to the sky-plain to bring warmth and comfort to all. Amaterasu climbed the pillar that connected earth to heaven, but her brother Susanowo grew jealous and he no longer cared for the seas or plants of the land. In his absence nature withered and Izanagi banished him to the earth, but he stole away to visit his sister. She saw him coming, and warily dressed herself in armour and bound her hair with sacred jewels. Amaterasu shook her mighty bow and kicked up the ground as if it was powdered snow. Despite this intimidating display her brother swore he had only come to say goodbye. She tested him and trusted him, but her trust was misplaced. Susanowo, full of jealousy destroyed her rice fields, and spitefully defecated in her beautiful gardens. Amaterasu, despite her anger forgave him, but he redoubled his efforts and desecrated the holy stronghold of her weaving hall. He broke through the thatch roof, throwing down a flayed carcass of a horse, which so terrified the goddesses there that they fell down from their high looms and injured their vaginas. Amaterasu’s younger sister was so badly injured that she died, and so the holiest sanctuary in heaven was invaded by death, defilement and fear. Susanowo the Storm God seemed to have at last overcome the peaceful rule of the Sun Goddess as she withdrew into the recess of the rock-cave-of-heaven, plunging the world into darkness. It was then that evil sprits took to the air like a swarm of pestering flies, while the gods sought counsel together to appease Amaterasu, so that she might withdraw from the cave and bring light and warmth to the world once more.
