I can remember driving home from work one day in April and thinking to myself, “my life would be so much easier right now if I had never started my fitness journey.” 😳⁣

My workouts were going great but my nutrition routine was causing me STRESS & GUILT. ⁣
⁣
Like a lot of us do when we are first starting something new, I researched what other people were doing with their nutrition who had an awesome bod & then ran with it..⁣
⁣
I was: ⁣
•trying to track macros and failing everyday to hit anything close ⁣
•checking nutritional info on restaurant menus before going out to eat and stressing out because everything I wanted was high calories ⁣
•meal prepping plain chicken, broccoli, and rice EVERY week for lunch (BORING) ⁣
•not allowing myself to eat anything deemed “bad” 🍩 without telling myself it would hinder my progress ⁣
⁣
I was OBSESSING about trying to do everything right and lost sight of what my original goal even was.. which was to build a SUSTAINABLE healthy lifestyle. ⁣
⁣
I decided to ditch the ideal that the above was the ONLY way to be healthy & see results in the gym, and found a routine that works for ME.⁣
⁣
Now I: ⁣
•don’t track what I eat, focus on healthy eating habits (well balanced meals, 80% Whole Foods)⁣
•eat whatever I want when I go out to dinner (3-4 times per week, the other 20%)⁣
•meal prep breakfast & lunch - different delicious, healthy recipes every week & mix up the veggies, protein, and carbs ⁣
•eat 🍩 🍕🍪🍦🍰 here & there KNOWING it’s not going to halt my gains ⁣
⁣
Tracking macros/calories works GREAT for a lot of people & THE BEST nutrition/fitness routine is the one that works for YOU. You may have to try some different things to see what works best but with time & consistency, living a healthier lifestyle becomes much easier! ⁣

Yesterday was my birthday so I took a half-day from work and spent the afternoon baking! I had a bunch of fresh blueberries to use up so I made some #vegan #glutenfree muffins to share with my friends at work!

The recipe could use a few tweaks but they were still tasty enough that the whole tray was eaten before the day was done!

Sadly, my big tupperware was in use but at least the tin foil can be recycled. 🌴 #stillbetterthanplastic

My mom brought me a ton of homegrown green beans today. They're super delicious raw. I'm planning meals I can make this weekend with them too. Yum! And I'm packaging some for the families I work with and some for the neighbors. Dinner last night! Baked organic chicken thighs on a bed of mixed baby greens, sliced local tomato, avocado, fermented red cabbage, kalamata and stuffed green olives from the farmer’s market, sprouted pumpkin seeds, fresh chopped parsley, dried kelp flakes, sea salt. Drizzled with homemade Dump Ranch from @Whole Sisters:), as well as raw acv. I like using avocado oil instead of olive oil in the Dump Ranch recipe, and sometimes canned coconut cream instead of coconut milk for a thicker ranch. Happy Thursday everyone! A bit of a #throwback to this pic but the message remains the same 
If you're like me, you have a big appetite and cannot survive along on sad salads and celery sticks. If you're also like me, you can easily eat a loaf of bread, tub of ice cream and a pot full of spaghetti in one sitting. Which of course because I can eat so much, I can easily gain weight.
Therefore, I need foods that are nutritious and low calorie so I can eat tons of them, feel full and happy... and of course not consume 10,000 calories in one day!
Yes, most of these are veggies, but that is the joy of veggies! Low calorie, filling and can be cooked a variety of different ways to prevent boredom!

Rey takes the mic for the first verse of 'Increasingly Lemon,' whilst strumming away 🎤🔥🎸. This song has had quite a few moments and its performance history. For example, at one show Rey actually lost power to his amp for a few minutes in the middle of the song(!) 😨😨. I knew something was up when we were playing an acoustic set all of a sudden, and I turned to see Rey wondering what the hell had happened. The man stayed almost expressionless however, remaining stoic. He never once panicked or lost his composure, and big s/o to Luke for helping the guys quickly diagnose the problem and troubleshoot us back to business. Meanwhile, I was trying to tell everyone ghost stories to hold the buzz in the room. Anyone wanna hear it? It starts about 150 years ago… 👻 •
