I put this on before i go wrestle bears and mooses out of our yard. this is the current state of canadian death metal, cerulean by gomorrah. listen to when it kicks in (25ish secs), it's so badass, still blows me away 100 listens later. amazing job @bomatheson
We were absolutely honoured to make it onto the @guitarknobs christmas wish list with the f*t gett! go and check out their great podcast! if they managed to find us, you know they search far and wide for cool guitar gear!
A friend and customer in melbourne is auctioning off two very rare tym fuzz pedals for charity at the moment on ebay.
@loxx_sustainar is giving all the money from these auctions to melbourne city mission to help homeless people in the city where he lives.
it warms my cockles that some people treat my effects, or anything i make, like this. it means a lot to me that people would rather give back than take from my hard work. i do a lot of charity effects (and other stuff) and it's always daunting with so much suffering. it's nice to know that a small part of tym guitars has influenced some (probably most) of my customers in this way.
tym guitars will be donating $100 to each auction at the end.
the tym distortion sustainer was a 15th anniversary pedal from 2012 and is a violet era rams head packed with original nos 2n5133 to106 transistors, just like the originals. only 15 were made. j mascis has one of these.
the super mudd is another very rare tym fuzz that is my rams head with mids and clipping toggles and a battery drain p*t with the bypass as on the fuzz munchkin.
the pedals pictured here are mine but follow the links to the auctions for more details or check my blog.
huge thanks to lachlan for doing this and thanks ultimately to whoever buys these pedals and helps out some humans less fortunate.
I know you guys have been curious about this one since reading their @reverb article. fresh in from @hancock.family.farm 🇺🇸 i’ll be going over a few @farmpedals with peach drive, fly agaric phaser, and cast iron octave fuzz. which do you want to hear first❓hit us up in the comments
Anchor point deluxe! still a klon clone, but with a couple of distinct improvements: it has a switch to cut a bit of treble, making it more suitable for a wider range of guitars, and i incorporated a bass switch to make it more suitable for... bass. this one’s in a 125b box with top mounted jacks!
This weeks #guitarpedalmonday is super belated because today is wednesday! i also wrote more than instagram will allow me to write in my first attempt (i love this pedal that freaking much) so this is a condensed version.
this is probably my most frequently used pedal: @bossfx_us ps-5 aka the super shifter. i got this pedal pretty early on in velvet crayon and it's always been in my live pedal setup.
it's the chorus sound on "brains", the octave sound on "monsters" and "nursery rhyme blues", the high pitch sound for the riff of "new york city", it turns my guitar into a bass, and it is constantly used when recording.
the ps-5 is a beast. i love it. it's one of the most useful pedals ever. some of my favourite things to do with it are.. pitch shifter setting, pitch octave down, effect volume slightly up = sounds like 12-string guitar where instead of octave up strings, they're an octave below. super cool.
harmonist setting, pitch octave up (maybe even up two octaves), effect volume slightly up = mystical 12-string guitar from space. if you put a slight delay after it, ah, one of my favourite sounds. the tracking (how the pedal handles the pitch shift) on it gets slightly messed up when you play chords or finger pick so it gets a bit wonky and i absolutely love it.
the most used thing i do is harmonist, octave down (or up), for the guitar/bass sound of monsters and nursery rhyme blues.
this is only a fraction of what it can do.. it's an amazing pedal. it's definitely a necessity to the velvet crayon sound.. someday i want another one so that i can experiment with using multiple settings at the same time.
anyways, see you next week!!! and next week will be on monday. not sure what it's going to be. again, if you have any questions, ask them.. cheers!
