Trekking to everest base camp- guide or no guide??? pros: •provides jobs to the nepali people
•get a lot of quality time with your guide & great opportunity to learn a lot about nepal! •they take care of everything all food, accommodations & flights, which is great after hiking 5-8 hours everyday!!!
•they are there to help with altitude sickness or any other problem that might arise. things to think about:
•we are super introverts & like to wonder which was hard to have with a guide •harder to decide how slow you want to take it or if you have time to spend some extra nights in some of the cool mountain towns.
•it can get pricy.
recommendation: if you have experience with multi day treks and altitude sickness you probably don't need a guide, but could hire a porter once in lukla if you want help with your bags. if this is one of your first times trekking long distances i'd go with a guide 😁
