03.12.2018 | at approximately 4:40am, lafd and chp were notified by metro transit security of an 11 car pile up on the southbound 101 freeway near the 110 interchange in downtown la. officials arrived to find multiple vehicles facing all directions, a mini cooper which had slammed into the rear end of a charter bus, and a $300,000 ferrari 488 which appeared to be a total loss. due to the high call volume, no chp officers were available. metro transit security shut down all freeway lanes as crews worked to clear the scene. incredibly, there were no injuries reported. chp central division officers eventually responded nearly 20 minutes after the accident occurred and were handling the incident. officers tell us the pileup was attributed to the wet weather and slick roads. .
