Long post alert: 6 years ago today, i entered the corporate world. coming into the corporate world, i remember thinking, “i want to climb the corporate ladder as high as i can go, and one day make 200k a year so i can buy a huge house, fancy car and whatever else i want.
fast forward to february 2017, i was bored at work and i typed in, “how to get rich.” that’s when i came across dave ramsey. i did the baby steps out of order, as i did baby 3 first, but in short, november 2017 i paid off my last debt and had baby step 3 completed.
fast forward to today, 11 months later, my thought process isn’t what it used to be 6 years ago when i walked into my first corporate job. this #debtfreejourney
has taught me how to manage my money and i know longer feel the need to push to myself up the corporate ladder to make that 200k a year. honestly, i don’t know what i’d do with all that money. to me, working more hours and having added stress in a higher position isn’t worth the money.
during this journey i’ve developed a minimalist mentality so that huge house and fancy car that i was talking about, it isn’t something i want anymore. also, i never use all of my “fun money” because there’s nothing i really want. this journey has changed my mentality in many different areas and i’m forever grateful that i was bored at work that day and i came across dave ramsey. i don’t know where i’d be if i didn’t find dave. probably still paying off my car 😂🤦🏽♂️ #financialfreedom #frugal #personalfinance #savings #budgeting #debtfreedom #minimalist #savings #minimalism #debtfreecommunity #savingmoney #saving
