This is the worst mentality you can have. I used to be this way and know tons of people who have the same mentality to this day. Seeing something or hearing something and becoming intimidated by it because it might be hard and out of your comfort zone is never a reason to discourage yourself. Most of the time when we hear about something or see something that is hard to do, we immediately run away from it and discourage ourselves so that we never have to do it. We think “fuck that” or “I would never do that” or you turn a blind eye. But that is no way to live life. If you aren’t making yourself uncomfortable, if you aren’t stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying something new, are you even living? It doesn’t matter whether you succeed or fail at whatever the task may be, but at least you gave it your best shot. Screw everything else, be uncomfortable and live to the fullest! Focus on what will take you to the next level and then do everything you can to attain it! You, just like me, have the ability to earn everything you want! You have to be willing to fight for it, to work for it, and have the heart for it. So when you see something that might be hard, don’t be scared! Instead, just do it, aim to be better. Even if you fail, you got further than you would have before and now you can work your way up to it!

DO YOU GET FRUSTRATED BECAUSE YOU FAILED AT SOMETHING?

It happens to all of us, we try something new or we are working out and just can’t seem to be able to do it right. We start getting frustrated and angry and then just have a shitty workout. But here’s where things can change. When things in the gym seem to get hard, when you can’t perform a movement or fail at something, you want to learn to stay calm. Breathe, Sit down, and think about what you’re trying to do and how you can do better. If you have videos, watch the video until you understand how to do it right. Tell yourself that it’s ok to mess up and That mistakes are how you learn. Then slowly break the movements down and practice them. Once you feel more confident, start doing the full movement. Remember, no one is rushing you to get to your results. Go at your own pace. Take it slow and trust the process. Last but not least, movement is movement. Whether youre doing it right or making mistakes, it doesn’t matter. You are still putting in work and progressing in your goal.

During our current social “situation”, one of the hardest things we are facing right now is the ability to purchase the foods we commonly buy and love to consume. ⁣

At the start of all of this, many of us immediately went worst case scenario and purchased canned, frozen, and packaged goods, under the assumption that we would need to survive off of these foods for weeks without having access to grocery stores or fresh foods. ⁣

Now we have learned this is currently not the case, that grocery stores remain open (whether stocked or not) and are accessible almost in the manner we are accustomed to. ⁣

So what do we do with all of this canned & packaged food we bought? How do we construct our meals? Do we go purchase fresh foods and save the rest? ⁣

Due to severe head trauma received early last year, training @melissathewong has been a tedious process. Dynamic movement has been all but off the table as her cognitive functions would decline rapidly resulting in dizziness and a loss of balance. The changes seen here have been brought about entirely by the application of @functionalpatterns correctives (IMAPS) and myofascial release. Training in relation to our biomechanical blueprint targets all systems of the body, including the vestibular system so it’s no surprise to see an improvement in her balance and coordination as we start to ramp up her dynamic movement.
