In my last post i said i wanted to share something that i wrote but i was too nervous. i’m still a little nervous about this but here it is!! i wrote this myself so if it’s not that good, you know why. //
they say a mirror makes you look a little bit prettier than you really are.
now i don’t know about you, but if that’s the case, i’m terribly sorry to anyone with the displeasure of looking at me.
i know i’m not the most pretty flower in the medow.
there are plenty of others with beautiful designs and interesting patterns.
there are many flowers that look better placed beside your nightstand or pressed between the pages of a book so they maintain their beauty.
but sometimes i wonder, is that really where they belong?
i thought flowers were meant to be enjoyed for all of their short, yet purposeful lives.
their beauty does not come from their longevity, or their appearance beside your bed.
it comes from the way they make the world a more colorful, happy place, and the way they are created so that each and every one is different in appearance.
they are unique, and that makes them beautiful.
just like us.
people come in all different shapes and sizes, colors and ages.
that does not mean any one person is far less than, or far greater than any other.
we are all unique.
while our lives may be short, they are not meant to be spent placed on top of a bedside table, or pressed between the pages of a heavy book.
we are blessed with the ability to love, to create, to dance, to sing, to cry, to learn, to imagine, to live.
so let us.
