Lets us take a moment to talk about mental health today.
i want to speak about two sides of this topic which are displayed on social media.
yes, mental health is just as important as someone’s physical health and everyone should be well aware of their state of mind which contributes to endless factors in our everyday life. words like vibe, burn out, work-life-balance are so common now and they all point to how one is feeling over all. some people might just feel over-whelmed thinking about their state of mind because they simply don’t understand, so what can we do?
you can simply ask how someone is doing to be kind. it may not mean a lot to you but it will a ton to the other person because they might get positive power from your act of kindness. next, do not disregard someone’s state of mind just because you don’t under it. even if their words seem like a lie or , as some label it, they are trying to seek attention. you don’t know what the actual deal is so don’t judge. simply help or if you don’t want to, that’s okat, at least don’t make it worst.
another side to this topic is that when i see many people writing,” be kind to people, you don’t know what they are going through.” they may be calling out for help and asking someone indirectly to check up on them which is fine but where you want someone else to do this for you, don’t forget to be there for someone else as well because many times i have seen people be selfish and only care about how they are feeling and when the tables turn, they couldn’t care less about if someone else is feeling a certain way.
may be we can create a good vibe in our circle where someone checks up on you and you check up on someone else. mental health and mental illness goes deeper than anyone’s knowledge but to get started, this is the least of the least we can do.
