I’ll end my iceland series with a selfie from the top of esja. after exploring out on my own, and climbing a peak that wasn’t all that high but certainly precarious given the conditions and my lack of proper gear, i felt like i conquered something. not just the mountain but within myself. and now, six months later, with so many aspects of my life upside down and it being a challenge to find things to smile about some days, i think back and remember that my ability to push through what’s hard has got me where i am. the results of stretching comfort zones is so rewarding. sometimes, you just have to send it.
