В случая, ако в много други печива бихме могли да заменим кравето масло със зехтин или друг вид растително олио, то за приготвянето на кроасан - това е невъзможно, тъй като самото тесто се ламинира с масло (то трябва да бъде в твърда форма). Единствената алтернатива във веган формат може да бъде маргаринът, а той е отрова за нашето тяло. Маргаринът съдържа хидрогенирани мазнини, независимо от произхода му и това, че често може да го срещнете и в био магазините под наименование “веган масло”. Това е измама! Моля ви никога не яжте кроасан или друг продукт, съдържащ маргарин. Питайте, интересувайте се от състава на това, което ядете. Пазете децата си! Изкуствено създадените транс мазнини запушват артериите, пречат на тялото ни да обработи “добрия холестерол”и увеличават лошия, също така не могат да се изхвърлят от нас по никакъв начин. Finding healthy coping mechanisms or outlets to let out your stress, whether that’s listening to music or taking an hour to workout, has helped me. ⠀

This week has not been my week. This doesn’t mean bad things happened to me but I just feel down on myself. I’m no stranger to these waves of emotion but I told myself it’s not too late to turn it all around. With that promise I made myself last night, I started my day with a tough peloton class with Robin & am feeling excellent! ⠀

If you are feeling down, just recognize that it is a bump in the road and you have the power to turn any day around. Stand up, brush yourself off, kick ass and smile!

6 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. lime juice
1 clove garlic
½ tsp. kosher salt
½ tsp. chili powder
Corn Salad:
6 cobs of corn
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 ripe, fresh avocado, pitted, peeled and diced (about 1 cup)
2 Tbsp. jalapeño, seeded and minced
¼ cup scallions, sliced
¼ cup cilantro leaves
½ cup Cotija cheese, crumbled

Instructions:
Avocado Crema:
Combine avocado, milk, lime juice, garlic, kosher salt and chili powder in blender and puree until smooth.
Corn Salad:
Brush corn on the cob with olive oil; Broil or grill until charred; Cool and remove corn from cobs (about 4 cups corn kernels).
In bowl, combine charred corn, avocado, jalapeño, scallions and cilantro leaves.
Toss with Avocado Crema until evenly coated.
Sprinkle with Cojita cheese.

🥦 Sesame Broccoli
Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:
2 heads of broccoli
1⁄2 cup water
1⁄4 teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, slivered
3 green onions, sliced thin
2 tablespoon lemon juice
3⁄4 teaspoon turmeric
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon sesame oil

Directions:
1. Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Cut the stems into small pieces and peel if they are tough. You should have a total of 6–8 cups.
2. In a large skillet, bring 1⁄2 cup water to boil. Add broccoli and sprinkle with salt. Cover and cook about 4 minutes, until broccoli is slightly tender but not soft. The water will have evaporated. Remove from pan to a serving dish.
3. Add olive oil to the skillet and sauté garlic and green onions over low heat for 3 minutes. Return broccoli to skillet. Add lemon juice and turmeric. Cook for 2 more minutes until broccoli is warmed.
4. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Return to serving dish and drizzle sesame oil over broccoli before serving.

How do you like your steak? We like it rolled full of veggie goodness 😋 With only 117 calories per roll these are ideal if you’re cutting down while also getting lots of protein and nutrients.⁣

📝INGREDIENTS📝⁣
(For 8 roll-ups)⁣
1 lb flank steak(455 g), or skirt steak⁣
½ cup soy sauce(120 mL)⁣
3 cloves garlic, minced⁣
1 tbsp ginger, grated⁣
2 tbsp honey⁣
1 lime, juiced⁣
1 tsp sriracha sauce, optional⁣
1 bell pepper, cut into matchsticks⁣
1 carrot, cut into matchsticks⁣
½ zucchini, cut into matchsticks⁣
16 stalks asparagus, halved⁣
1 red onion, sliced⁣
⁣
👨‍🍳PREPARATION👩‍🍳⁣
1. In a baking dish with the steak, mix the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, lime juice, and Sriracha sauce.⁣
2. Lightly massage the marinade into the steak and cover. Refrigerate 1-4 hours.⁣
3. Place toothpicks in a bowl and pour water over to prevent toothpicks from burning.⁣
4. Once marinated, cut the steak into 8 equal rectangles. You may need to pound the steak thinner if using a thicker cut.⁣
5. Place a few slices of each of the vegetables on a slice of steak, making sure they are all about the same length.⁣
6. Roll the steak up over the vegetables and secure it with a toothpick.⁣
7. In a small saucepan over medium heat, pour in the leftover marinade and bring to a boil for about one minute, take off the heat, and set aside to use as a glaze.⁣
8. In a grill pan or on the grill over medium high heat, place your steak roll-ups and cook for 2-3 minutes.⁣
9. Flip the roll over and use a heat-safe brush to brush the glaze on each roll.⁣
10. Cook for about one minute longer and remove from heat. Top with sesame seeds.⁣

This was simply one of the best dinners I’ve had since I’ve been sick.

Not being able to eat my normal foods was a bummer but I know I needed to change it up so that I could recover quickly.

Which made it that much better when I finally got to cook again!

I’m so blessed to be able to nourish my body with all the good foods and to be honest I wouldn’t have it any other way. God gave me this wonderful vessel and I will strive to take care of it for the rest of my life.

On my plate I’ve got some red lentil pasta from @aldiusa, trout also from  @aldiusa which I baked for 13 minutes on 375F. I seasoned it with fresh garlic, lemon juice, avocado oil and a garlic bell pepper seasoning I got from @bjswholesale.

I made one of my favorite dishes of all time which is Migas, a traditional Portuguese side dish with consists of beans, kale (I used spinach instead), lots of garlic, avocado oil and Portuguese corn bread which is savory, not the stuff you see around here ( since I didn’t have Portuguese corn bread I used sourdough).

If you "kinda sorta" eat right... guess what?!! ...you'll "kinda sorta" get results.

i hear these excuses all the time: 🍏 i drank green juice a few times and it didn’t work for me. 🐛 i ate vegetables for a week and i didn’t see a difference. 🍋 i started my morning with warm lemon water a few times and i didn’t feel anything 🥦 i ate clean for a few days and nothing happened. ☀️ i take supplements every once in a while and i’m still not healthy. 🦋 health doesn’t happen by doing something healthy “kinda sorta” or here and there when you feel like it. 🐛 health is created by a lot of consistent small but crucial steps. 🦋 we all focus on one big important moment that will change our life, or our health, but we forget about thousands of small moments of improvement in our daily life. 🐛 the small steps matter, they add up to the big moment. 🦋 we get what we do and repeat. 🍏 a good act rewards us while our bad act will punish us in the end. 🐛🍏🦋 what small step will you decide to stop “kinda sorta doing”

Cucumber 
Red and orange peppers 
Boiled eggs 
Edamame 
Black beans 
Avocado or guacamole 
Greek yogurt mixed with salsa
Grape tomatoes 
Cilantro
More avocado slices

You can also add a meat of your choice such as ground Turkey or beef.

File this one under quick breakfast I could eat on repeat everyday. Mornings for me usually look like controlled chaos, so having foods ready for breakfast is super important. Here are some of the ways I save time on breakfast so I make sure I eat something this good on the daily:

1. Meal prepping really is a life saver. I’ll meal prep certain items like veggies or roasted potatoes the night before, and just toss them in a skillet with avocado oil the next morning to warm them up.

2. If there’s anything that I need to cook like breakfast sausages, I start cooking them on low while I’m still putting my makeup on. I’ll go out and check on them or flip them around, but it helps when breakfast is ready once the makeup is on.

3. Don’t be afraid to eat salad for breakfast. I know if you’re like me we grew up on something like waffles or pancakes for breakfast and the thought of eating salad was just nonsense. But it really is an easy way to get in some veggies first thing in the morning and it’s also quick to toss together.
