The romanian deadlift:
the romanian deadlift is an exercise performed when an individual grips a barbell and initiate the exercise by raising it off the ground like a deadlift, whilst keeping the legs in a rigid position, usually with a mild bend.
- it strengthens the hamstrings, glutes and spinal erectors.
- it has a greater force acting against these muscles compared to the deadlift, therefore strengthening the deadlift.
overall, the romanian deadlift has aided many powerlifter, increasing their deadlift and squat potential.
