--- spot(not)reduction ---
often i'm asked: "coach, which exercise to reduce this(grabs his love handles or shakes his belly like he just ate a big bowl of jellypudding)?"
yeah, you just ate everything you could lay your hands on for the last 3 - 5 years and now you're asking for an exercise to get rid of all the redundantness? excuse me? which planet were you from?
the answer is: "every exercise!"
yep, i'm sorry, you cannot lose f*t that has been growing on your belly by doing a few abs exercises only.
that would mean if you do biceps curls for a few weeks you would get great shredded biceps while the rest if your body still looks like shit.
all those belly vibrators, sweat wrappings, waste trainers(yes those too), and ab contractors.... they don't work. all examples of hypes which every few years get a new colour, name, design to do one thing: let you spend money on them.
think for a moment, if they would work, would there still be big bellies?
exercise it is! how boring? that depends. you haven't done anything to improve your physical wellbeing for a long time, because you were? bored, uninterested, careless? please don't blame your wife's cooking or a busy job. those excuses make you look really weak. blame yourself. take a good look in the mirror(naked) and repeat after me: "how did it get this far? what do i need to do to change this?" answer those questions for yourself.
wait let me help you. answer 1: because i didn't care. answer 2: any form of activity (not being the game controller or the tv remote) that you can think of.
i'm focusing here on you becoming an active person. not only doing it by dieting. because that will make you physically weak.
physical activities carry a magnitude of benefits with them. and you might want to have some guidance in the beginning or maybe throughout your fitness or weightloss journey.
every exercise you do will partly burn fat. add that to a caloric deficit(diet) and you will hardly store any f*t anymore. that means that f*t is being used for energ/activities and not replenished.
there you go losing weight and gaining muscle, a win-win situation.
train, be sore, recover, repeat!
