What a race weekend! quaduro time at utah motorsports campus for the season finally. instead of the standard format with the same track for an entire day you run two sessions in the morning on full track, and two sessions in the afternoon on outer loop, and then combine your best morning and afternoon time for the day. saturday morning with the first two sessions of the day on the full track we were excited at the opportunity to run, but then it started rain, and with the forecast of 60% chance of rain, we decided to sit out the first session and watch the weather. as the second session time approached the weather started looking like there was a possibility of putting down some fast times. so we began quick preparation to run the second session , and the s2000 wouldn’t start. it took a few minutes too long to diagnose the issue, and the s2000 didn’t make the second session, so there would be no chance for the s2000 to make the podium for day one. the nsx driven by kevin was able to put down a good enough time in the morning session, and a good enough time in the afternoon session to take 1st place and top the podium for day one. rhett was able to run the afternoon sessions and get some much needed points for the season championship.
on sunday the day looked promising so we set both cars up with new hoosier a7s hoping for a very fast day. the day did not disappoint as rhett ran a personal best in the morning on east track at 1:36.885 with traffic making him miss the record by less than 2/10ths of a second, and a personal best 1:57.153 for outer loop. kevin and stephanie split sessions for the day in the nsx, and kevin ran a personal best 1:43.243 on east in the morning, and a personal best 2:02.952 in the afternoon session on outer loop. rhett topped the podium in 1st place with kevin taking second place for the day. it was a great way for powerneedy motorsports, and the panters to finish the weekend with two 1st place finishes, and one second place finish. adding valuable points to the to the utah nasa regional tt1 championships. #stoptech #insaneshafts #aprperformance #hoosiertires #forgstar #turbobygarrett #injectordynamics
