Covid-19 diary entry 1.
the kids have now been off school since last monday, with today marking the first official day of qld schools being student free.
caitlin, my eldest daughter has since last week been supervising the kids in their home schooling, with maths, spelling, art, music and exercise classes, whilst also completing her own uni studies online.
this weekend., we only left the house for a walk in the morning, spending the rest of the time doing some gardening, computer work and lots of netflix.
karen, my wife has been doing a few shopping trips and drop offs to her parents, who are considered to be in the high risk category. karen also has a few hours of work at one of her part time jobs, but it’s not going to be enough to survive on.
i myself have no work on today and suspect this will soon become the norm. i’ve registered through mygov this morning for assistance and will apparently be contacted in due course.
in the meantime i’m trying to stay busy and think of ways to adapt to the ever changing situation.
i hope everyone is staying safe and complying with the latest social distancing requirements.
