As the woolsey fire and hill fire continue, including a new flare-up near carlisle canyon, lake sherwood and boney mountain areas, giant plumes of smoke fill the air in surrounding areas.
thank you to andy holzman with @socalnewsgroup
for sharing this powerful vista, which was taken last friday in camarillo. farmworkers continue to work the fields despite the smoke-filled air.
state regulations do not explicitly require employers to equip farm workers with masks and other protective equipment, although they are advised to consider doing so.
we hope that all those affected— firefighters, residents, laborers, and volunteers— stay safe. our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in california.
