Yesterday i spent the afternoon trying to find the perfect spot to photograph my little village and her magic. i try to photograph the celebrations every year, as a small thank you to the people of ravello and torello, for being who they are. sometimes i have a wedding and i cannot but when i can i put my heart into it. i do feel a little pressure since in 2016 and 2017, the stars a aligned and due to a series of fortunate mistakes and not talent, i managed to produce some interesting shots. this year the pressure was on since fortunate mistakes, are impossible to reproduce. i decided to take the mountain path down towards amalfi to see if completely changing perspective could qualify as a fortunate mistake. it soon became clear i was mistaken and on my way back i came across the local priest taking a stroll with two little old folk. they informed me my idea was silly and told me exactly where i would get the best shot. so i cannot take credit for this year’s positioning. after the fireworks the little old man and his braces strapped over his crisp white shirt came to find me. to find out if i had approved of his suggestion. i looked at him with his mustache and hat, it took allot of effort to answer him as seriously as he was asking, since all i wanted to do was squeeze him tight. but i am already known as the crazy artist. instead i satisfied him with, “il megliore posto”, he smiled and walked off nodding to himself.
