“the only person you have to be better than is the one you were yesterday.” i say we let go of comparison, of wanting to emulate who others are, of striving to be something that doesn’t feel right to us.
let’s get grounded in who we are and hold on to it tightly. without wavering, be unapologetically you. you can’t ever please everyone - but you can please yourself.
is there anything about you that others tried to make you feel like you had to change?! maybe something physical? maybe a job you wanted to do? my whole life- people always tried to tell me my hair was too long.
they would say it was ugly or try to make me feel bad and asked how i could wash hair that was so long? but even as a 9 year old girl- i loved it! i didn’t care what anyone said, because what did it matter if someone else liked it short and i didn’t?
