What a beauty. iso rivolta 300 gt, 1962.
Alfa Romeo first presented the 2600 Sprint at the Geneva motor show in 1962. At the Turin motor show in the same year, ISO presented their IR 300, another GT car but with a V8 rather than the Sprint's inline 6. The common link? Both cars were styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone. And in many respects they appear similar. (1 of 2)

Piero Rivolta's summer memories: “In early August, we used to close down the factory for the summer vacations and take off towards the coast usually on board of the Fidia, my favourite car, but sometimes also with a lobster coloured GT that no one wanted, but that I liked very much. Once out of Bresso, my personal race started. I always wanted to be the leader and fought hard with the Ferraris, the Lamborghinis and the Maseratis we encountered. The remobilisation of Italy after World War Two wore a charming, child-like face that seemed to always be smiling: The Isetta from Iso Rivolta was a three-wheeler that was only 2.29 metres long – even smaller than the first Smart car. The design – devised by two aircraft engineers – was as simple as it was practical. It featured a steel metal cabin sitting on a tubular frame, while access to the car was provided by a front door. When this door was opened, the steering wheel and the steering column swung out with the door. It’s hard to believe that there was enough space in the car for two passengers with small luggage to sit comfortably – at least by the standards at the time.
