meditation is not a magic cure for anything but its physical, mental and emotional benefits are aplenty as holistic practitioners, medical doctors, yogis, energy healers and google will tell you.
meditation is not as scary as you might imagine it to be. the image of buddhist monks chanting up a mountain might crop up but discard that thought.
it is an ancient practice to just disconnect from the external world and get in touch with yourself. your own self is frequently ignored when we are running around like headless chickens in our deadline-driven lives.
it doesn’t have to take up hours; just a few minutes of focusing on your breathing will do the trick. inhale, hold, exhale.
it’s a practice. it needs repetition. like hanging out with your best friend. you don’t just hang out once and never meet up again. you owe yourself this much attention. this is your opportunity to befriend yourself, to align your conscious self with your true energy.
