Here’s the hard truth— if someone disrespects your boundary and you return to them... you’re showing them you don’t respect it (or yourself) either.

You may say you want them to understand. Or to agree with you. Or you believe that maybe if you talked it over more or explained it better to them then they eventually would get on board with you.

What I think you want is their VALIDATION. And when you don’t get it, you’re afraid to let go and walk away.

You can’t set a boundary and then wait for the approval of it. Returning is what causes you continued pain. You fear letting go... but doing so is freeing. ✨
