Here i am, back in the middle east. after a long break, relaxed and peaceful months with my family, short instagram-free trips here and there - now i'm happy to get myself busy again, in new contexts and with new arabic dialects to tackle.
lebanon welcomed me with some tensions, blocked roads and vandalized shops and buildings in central beirut. this did not, however, spoil my broader picture of this place.
beirut is a bustling city with a nice long seafront, tall buildings, crazy traffic and some cool hipster neighbourhoods. the atmosphere somewhat reminds me of amman and istanbul.
in this particular photo: the 19th-century maronite cathedral of st. george and the modern mohammed amin mosque, opened in 2008.
