#womensmarch2018: the people of sacramento ❤️ swipe through!
today i had the pleasure of walking with my sisters and brothers of all religions, genders, and ethnicities as we united to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. as we proceed with kindness.
we will share the love of humanity, peace, and equality. we will share the love for thy neighbor and what truly makes america great: our diversity. we will share that as a community we will not fall to ignorance. as the people, we stand together against racism, inequality, and hate.
we must remember that "the people" are the ones that have made this great country what it is. united as one nation.
as citizens of the united states of america, we will not go back in time.
as a nation, we have created history time and time again. in 1920, we gave women the right to vote with the ratification of the 19th amendment and we will continue to fight for true equality for our sisters. in 2008, we created history again by electing our first african american president. and now in 2018, we must stand for justice and put an end to repeating history of the injustices we have worked so hard to overcome.
you make me proud sacramento.
