As a highly sensitive mama, i am prone to overwhelm easily. at times, the mere volume of my boys depletes my energy levels. over the years i have learned tips and tricks to help me center myself when i feel my inner waters start to rise, but there are also lifestyle changes that i have implemented that have helped tremendously as well. we are not minimalist by the conventional sense. but i do use some of the core philosophies of minimalism and apply them to our lives in ways that make situations for us easier.
one area that has always been easy for me to implement has been play things we bring to the beach. ever since they were old enough to sit up, and walk, they have only each gotten a shovel. they are in charge of carrying it to and from the beach, and i've noticed for us, we don't need anything else. we use our hands and gather large shells to make any sand castles, and the shovel serves as a multipurpose tool for whatever else they desire to create.

whatever their imaginations can come up with, they can find a way to use their shovel for it, or do without. it really is true, the less stuff kids have, the more freely they use their imaginations.👍 have you implemented minimalism in any area of your life to prevent burnout?
