Update: So it turns out that I have piriformis syndrome, which is irritating the sciatic nerve that’s shooting down my right leg. Because of this, I’ve been lifting below 185lb as my working sets for both squat and deadlift. I was disappointed in not being able to lift above 165 with mild pain, but I can’t take that risk now that I’m 7 weeks out. Hopefully with more stretching and icing the area the inflammation will eventually fade. I’ve been focusing more towards hitting depth and having better control for squats since I still have a habit of dive-bombing. I do see some improvement so I’m definitely heading to the right direction. Just need to be more accountable with my training, health, and cutting weight before weigh-ins.

Failure 🔴🔴🔴 so today went like this:
50kg, 52.5kg, 55kg, 57.5kg, and then I was meant to hit 60kg. (Followed by a set of 45kg x 5 x 3) 
First two vids are my fails, last vid is my successful 57.5kg/126lb lift. Unfortunately it just didn’t happen today. I failed both attempts, even though I felt like it was most definitely there. I just wanted to point out how fucking blessed I am to have the team I have behind me. My coach Max wasn’t in today so Markos stood in to help me (sound on). Markos is the biggest name in the business, he is the force behind Big Dogs and ProRaw, works with the worlds elite the best of the best, but he is still there for spotting, supporting and encouraging a weak ass 60kg bench attempt for a novice noodle. That shows how dedicated to the sport he is, and how much of a genuinely good bloke he is. I am so blessed to have been accepted into the @ptcheadquarters family. So not sure what will happen meet day with bench I feel like 60 is there but who knows. Failure 🔴🔴🔴 so today went like this:

And after squats.. some 2X5X335 Deads! 💀☠️ I felt like these went easy as well! First set I hit the five reps.. and for my second set I felt like I could do six reps and hit them well. Deadlifts are my favorite lift.!! Personal preference: liquid chalk from @rawgripchalk gives me better grip 😁👌🏻💯 *

I felt like hot garbage today, and this time, it didn’t go away as I warmed up, so I put my head down and got done what I had to do. Bad days in the gym happen, but the consistency and disciple built up over years can overcome a bad day, training session, or anything else life can throw at you. Have non-negotiable daily habits that guide you, and you’ll feel accomplished and accountable when you get your have-to’s done each day.
