I had an awesome meal on #middleeastairlines
flying from paris to beirut. i booked my ticket last minute so i didn't have time to request my usual #diabeticmeal
(most airlines require 48hrs advance booking). but i was only disappointed momentarily because i had a choice between chicken or fish. this may not seem important initially, but let me explain. all the #diabeticmeals
that i have had recently were chicken. chicken, chicken, chicken! i'm am all clucked out. 😀 i gladly replied "poisson" (fish in french) when asked which meal i wanted.
it was delicious! so much so that i cleaned my plate (bottom right picture w/a few grains of rice left is proof). i can't remember the last time i ate #airplanefood
with such delight.
of course i had to select which carbs i would eat because the rolls, chocolate muffin, wild rice, and fruit tart are well above my carb count per meal. i chose to eat the wild rice and two bites of the muffin.
balance=(no ranking since was not a meal for people with diabetes)
overall this was a delightful meal. the fish was not over cooked, the lemon cream sauce was light and not overpowering, and the green beans were cooked nicely. they were still a vibrant color and not totally limp. the fresh salad with tomatoes were spot on.
this is a winner.
