Hey👋🏻 this time i’d like to show you my first mosaic commission which i got thanks to my dear friend @uniquemosaic
one day sveta told me about a woman who wanted a mosaic panel so much, but unfortunately sveta didn’t have an opportunity to realize it cos she lives in saint petersburg and the prize of her work could be really high (think only of the transportation cost🙀) so, she gave my contact to that woman. and the anchor was raised 😊⚓️ actually, it was a very beginning of my first real experience of working in this field.
that woman, my first serious client so to say, wanted an abstract piece, she didn’t really know what she would like to get in the end. she was (and still is, of course) a great admirer of van gogh’s paintings, and at one meeting she asked me to create something similar to that. i did some sketches but, in the end, she didn’t like them cos first “... there was too much black...”, then “...there was too much pink..” and so on, and so on...😬🙈 finally we decided not to “reinventing the wheel” and just chose the fragment from that very same piece of art which she liked most: the starry night.
one of the most important requests was to save that famous van gogh’s paintbrush and colours! the latter made a real and essential part of the commission, because the panel was planed for an absolutely white wall where my work had to be the brightest spot.
on the photos you can see the results of it. oh, so much energy, hours and different resources were invested in the work. but it was undoubtedly worth it!
