is visiting the uae for the first time ever in february 2019 in a landmark moment for interfaith relations in the country.
at the moment only one public appearance will be made by the pope at a mass in abu dhabi and tickets for the event are in extremely high demand!
there are estimated to be around one million catholics in the emirates and just 120,000 spaces to attend the mass.

on tuesday, february 5 at 10.30am.
how much does a ticket cost?
the event is complimentary /free.
however there is a strict procedure governing distribution which involves applying online or via parishes in the uae.
who can attend?
most of the spaces will be granted to the #catholic
faithful of the apostolic vicariate of southern arabia, which alongside the uae, covers oman and yemen.
but a quota will be reserved for the apostolic vicariate of northern arabia, which includes kuwait, bahrain, qatar and saudi arabia.
a very small number of tickets will also be made available to people living in lebanon, syria, jordan, palestine, egypt, iraq, india and others.
tickets for people living in non-gcc countries are allocated on a first come, first served basis. applications for the categories of india, the rest of asia, and the rest of the world bar the middle east are no longer accepting requests for tickets as are likely already fully subscribed, according a website dedicated to the uae papal visit.
