This red oak is becoming a good friend. tucked away in a little known corner of our forest, it’s visited most by white tail deer foraging for acorns. the size and presence of this stout, steady, stable and strong tree is a reassuring presence when i feel the need for those qualities. just feeling how hard and strong this living, breathing being is, reminds me that there are things in this world that are loving and good. we can find and develop relationships with our many relatives in the more than human world, we just need to make the effort. do you have a tree, stone of feature on the land that is your medicine spot?
