Oatley park - worth the trip ✔️
the ultimate oasis of nature, adventure and play for all ages is the rejuvenated oatley park in the st george area of sydney. this park is tucked away off the suburban streets of oatley within bushland. 🍂
this park was recently redeveloped into a wooden nature playground, complete with ropes, swings, flying fox, slides, sandpits and the biggest climbing treehouse and slide i’ve ever seen. 💚 there is also a replica steam train the kids can climb all over! 🚂
this park will entertain toddlers to tweens, with something for all ages and skill levels. the playground is spread out so it doesn’t feel overcrowded on busy days and most areas are visible for parents watching on.
and when your kids finish playing on the equipment they have the rest of the park and bushland to explore. 🌿
within the park and over the road (near the toilet facilities) there is a historic castle. if you follow the path further there is a small beach at the bottom of the hill. the kids can play in the sand and water of the george’s river. 💦
there is plenty of room in the park to kick a ball, have a picnic and camp out for the day. there is limited undercover or shaded seating, however the park is thriving with trees so it shouldn’t be hard to find a shady spot.
parking is throughout the park and surrounds the play equipment, but keep in mind there is also sporting fields within the park so it can get busy. there is one road in and out, but if you follow the signs and gps you should be right! 👍🏻
there is no shop or cafe within the park, however oatley and oatley west (1 min drive) is known for its cafe life!
this park is a locals favorite so don’t brag about it too much or we’ll get in trouble 😆 have fun!!
