Flashback friday to that time i adopted the cutest dog ever! 💕
where i live you're not allowed to have pets but my psychologist wrote me a letter for an emotional support pet. my mom said she didn't want a dog but she was constantly sending me links to different adoptable dogs. 😂 none of them felt right. i had a dog named butters that i had to part with. she ended up having cancer and then passed away. she was *my* dog and the first living being i came out as trans to. this new dog had big paws to fill.
my mom found "lilith" on the
@ocanimalcare website. she wasn't there the night before so my mom literally found her a couple hours after she was put up. she looked so similar to butters. my mom told me to go and visit then we'd all go back and visit together.
so i went and a lady brought lillith out to me. she was spayed the night before and in a lot of pain, she didn't want to eat any of the treats... lilith just wanted to cower underneath the bench. so i immediately adopted her. 😂 a super cool youth renamed her penny for me. 💕 when i got her home she couldn't walk on our tile because of her incision but she healed up but still refused to walk on the tile. she'd just jump across all of our furniture so i threw treats all over the floor to get her down and it worked! the leash training was another story because she hated things going around her neck. it sounded like i was murdering her when i just wanted to get a collar on. same when i tried to walk her. super embarrassing.
she's still wary of other people and only likes me and a handful of people. she loves to beg for food but she only does it if she trusts you so if she accepts a treat from your hand you are a very special human! she loves walks but still hates me putting a collar on her. people constantly stop us on our walks because she's adorable af. 💕 oh, and she's super spoiled if you can't tell from the other pictures. 😂 penny is a stubborn pup but she's my stubborn pup and i love her. 🐾💕
