Ginger and chickadee are home from the hospital!
we brought chickadee to the hospital after a couple days of treating her cough at home with antibiotics. during her stay at the hospital, she was in good spirits and eating well, but radiograph tests indicate chronic lung disease, not an infection. this means she will always have some degree of chronic respiratory issues, with not much we can fix from our end. we’ll be keeping an eye on her to see if environmental factors play a role, but otherwise our girl is feeling fine (and will be on a slight diet for a bit too!). chickadee is one of raven’s piglets. raven and her litter were found abandoned a little outside of dallas, so all of these piglets are still warming up to people.
ginger was one of our pregnant mamas who came in from the #caldwellseizure. she gave birth to 3 piglets, one stillborn, one who died during birth, and thurston, who survived a day before passing. unsure if these circumstances indicated more resounding health concerns, we brought her in for examination and observation for a few days. ginger is in good health and now home, though we are still heartbroken for her losses.
combined, ginger and chickadee’s hospital bills are over $1200. if you can help us support these ladies and their vet care, paypal firstname.lastname@example.org
